2.) Acquire a cat.
3.) Talk to and reassure the cat. Suggestions: "Gooood kitty. Niiiiice kitty. Loooove the kitty."
4.) Very quickly and without warning place the cat on the towel and roll it up. Note: Injury (to you) may be incurred.
5.) Pause to note the expression on the cat's face. This can offer a certain amount of compensation for any injury incurred (to you).
6.) Have the nail clippers handy. I probably should have mentioned that earlier.
7.) Gently pull the cat's back paws out of the towel one at a time and carefully trim the toenails. Note: as in step (4), injury (to you) may be incurred.
8.) When all the nails are trimmed, carefully release the cat and let it comfort itself in whatever way it sees fit.
9.) Cat treats are encouraged.
